I’d been looking for just the right puppy for months and it seemed like it would never happen. Just out of the blue, a friend told me about Jacqui and a puppy she had. I jumped into the car and went straight down there.
Fly was just what I was looking for…absolutely beautiful, with a superb nature and energy to burn.

A few weeks later he came home with me. It was clear from that day on that he was very special. We bonded instantly and 8 years on, he is still the same.

When it came to training him, it was always fun. He gave everything he had, every time we worked. His reward at the start was play with toys, some food, and praise from me. It didn’t take too long before the work itself was all the reward he needed. His enthusiasm to work remains as it was when he was just a pup. His desire to please me is unequalled to this day.

Flyboy has had a brief but outstanding trialling career.
In almost every trial he entered from Novice through to his Obedience Champion , his scores were in the 190’s.

Fly was 2 years old in his first trial..February 2005.
He earned his Novice Obedience title a month later in March 2005.
Then came his Open title in July 2005 and at the end of that year he earned his Gold Dumbell pin, and was the first dog in Qld to be named the OPEN DOG OF THE YEAR.

In 2006 he earned his UD title including a PERFECT SCORE of 200 points. Not long after this , Fly gained his Obedience Champion.

There have been some memorable moments that Fly and I have shared .

In 2005, Fly competed at the State Obedience Trials at Durack. On Day 1 he took out 1st place in Open Dog and was the Highest Scoring Border Collie and Highest Scoring Dog in Trial on that Day.

He was only entered in the Brisbane Royal Show on 2 occasions.
In 2005 he won 1st place in Open dog, Highest Scoring Border Collie, and the Highest Scoring Dog in Trial.
In 2006, he won 1st place in UD and Highest Scoring Border Collie again.

While all of these tremendous achievemenst mean so much, nothing holds a candle to the relationship I have with Fly. He is truly my best friend. He loves life and he would give until he had no more to give…..he and I are truly one.
